Hold onto your nonslips....
our dining room is open!
We've been open for nearly two years, yet have only been open for roughly two months.
This is a huge opportunity for us to change Friendswood's perspective on our hospitality! Here are some ways on how to go the second mile for our guests:
- Greet each guest who walks in with a "hello" and a smile
- Make personal connects (ask how their day is going, compliment their outfit, make conversation!)
- Give clear directions to guests and ask how you can help them
- Walk a guest out to their car if they are carrying a large order
- If it's raining, walk guests out with an umbrella
- Offer a high chair and a placemat to a parent with children
- Maintain general cleanliness and ensure our store looks BEAUTIFUL!
We're moving back to some of our original protocols:
- All team members must park around the perimeter of the store. If you arrive when it's still dark, you can park in the middle lot, and move as it gets light and vice versa for evening team members. As always, make sure you're walking in or out of the store with someone to your car when it's dark!
- Cleanliness is HUGE now! If you use the last of something, go crush the box (or leave it by the box crusher if you're under 18). If you spill something, clean & mop it up. If you forget where something goes, ask a lead for help. If we all contribute to this, it will be easy to upkeep the store.

New rollout...
cleaning lists, lean chicken tracking system
To help with the general upkeep and maintenance of our store, we are rolling out new cleaning lists for the store. There is a list for each week, divided into morning and evening. There is one task a day for each time frame. These aren't huge projects, but will help us all work together.
Also, the kitchen will be rolling out with a new chicken tracking system this week. This means that we will be tracking based on what comes into the store vs what goes out. This will indicate if we are wasting chicken or if there is possible theft. Remember, we want to use every piece of chicken we cook! Ask your leaders if you have any questions!

iPads, it's your time to shine...
in upselling in order taking!!!
Upselling is when you suggest to a guest to add to their order. Every single order should have some type of upsell on it - breakfast, lunch, and dinner!
Here are a few examples:
1. "Would you like to make that a large?"
2. "Would you like to add bacon?"
3. "Would you like to add cheese?"
4. "Any sauces, condiments, or desserts today?"
5."Would you like a cookie or brownie with that?"

Looking to grow in leadership?
the certified trainer program is the place to start!
Whether you're FOH or BOH, we want to invest in you! The first step in the Certified Trainer Program is to gain leadership approval, so reach out to Makayla for directions on how to start. We encourage you to view the information posted by the employee break area, or visit the Cultivate page for more information about the CT program.

A tough farewell...
to our peppermint shake
January 22nd will be our last day to promote the Peppermint Shake. We will continue to sell the shake until supplies last.
If guests inquire about the discontinuing of the Peppermint Shake, kindly remind them that it is a seasonal item and it will be back before they know it! :)
